Turriff Show Ladies Day – Divas in the Den!
The Turriff Show Ladies Day Committee will host their annual charity event in the run up to the 159th Turriff Show which takes place on Sunday the 30th & Monday the 31st of July 2023.
Ladies day Committee Chair Fiona Gray said “The event, “Divas in the Den” will take place on Sunday the 23rd of July 2023, in the Turriff Show Hospitality Marquee, at the Haughs, Turriff. Those attending will enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch courtesy of The Kastille, followed by an afternoon of entertainment, fun and games – Diva style.”
The organising committee comprising of Turra Quines was established in 2018, with the main aim of raising money for local charities and charities close to the hearts of those on the committee. Despite a 2-year absence in 2020 & 2021, the event has raised over £42,500 for charities including, Charlie House, Mental Health Aberdeen, HomeStart Deveron and Clan Cancer Outreach Support, Turriff.
This year, the committee have chosen to support Scottish Huntington’s Association, a Scottish charity who provide invaluable support to individuals and families directly affected by Huntington’s and The World Suicide Prevention Project (TWSPP) who are on a mission to end suicide forever. As per previous years, Turriff Show will also benefit from money raised.
Interest in the event has escalated over the years and with a welcomed increase in the size of the marquee tent, an additional 60 tickets (6 tables) were up for grabs. Tickets were sold online via local business Thorneybank Farm Shop on Wednesday the 3rd of May and sold out within minutes.
As ever, such events thrive thanks to the generous contribution from local businesses by way of sponsorship, auction prizes and raffles.
Main event sponsor Bridgend Aggregates will enjoy hospitality on the day along with other appreciated sponsors including Aileen Ingram, Aesthetika Clinic, James Hall Joinery and AK|Architects. Shannon Green of Bridgend Aggregates states “Bridgend Aggregates aredelighted to be onboard as main sponsors for Turriff Show Ladies Day. We hope a fantastic day is had by all, while raising money for two incredible charities”. Fiona added “thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we will be able to give those who were lucky to secure a place a fantastic and memorable afternoon of entertainment.
The organising committee and I would be grateful to hear from any other businesses who may be willing to donate an auction or a raffle prize for the event.”
Fiona concluded “we are very much looking forward to welcoming 360 ladies to the Haughs on the 23 rd of July, we have planned an epic afternoon all with the aim of raising as much money as possible for the worthwhile charities.”
